Saw Dogs: Man's Best Friend DVD set at Costco today. It's four separate shows from PBS and/or NOVA.
Was tempted to buy it, but wanted to go home to check on Amazon's price.
Checking on Amazon, Costco's price is cheaper.
The set consists for four DVDs.
Dogs Decoded (website, video)
Through A Dog's Eyes (website, video)
Dogs and More Dogs (website, youtube)
How Smart Are Animals? (website, video)
Here's some other DVDs I see on Amazon. Most of these I already watched (and recorded) from TV.
And Man Created Dog (National Geographic) (website, youtube)
Science of Dogs (National Geographic) (website, youtube)
Dogs That Changed The World (Nature) (website, youtube)
[6/21/14: The Rise of the Dog, Dogs by Design]
Some of these are available online, so I included the links above.
And here's one more
Why We Love Cats and Dogs (website, video)
and
The Secret Life of the Dog (in 6 parts, video2) [Dogs Decoded is the Americanized version of this video]
The latest one on my DVR is Dog Genius (which I think covers some of the same ground as the Science of Dogs) (vimeo)
[6/18/12] Also Martin Clunes: A Man and His Dogs, a 2 part series which appears from time to time on the Smithsonian Channel (most of it on youtube).
[6/25/12] Dog Genius
[7/4/12]
Woof: Horizon Guide to Dogs (BBC)
Dogs and More Dogs (Nova)
[12/2/12] National Geographics offers a 3-DVD set that includes Science of Dogs, Those Wonderful Dogs, The Secret Life of Cats, And Man Created Dog.
[4/8/14] Noticed The Nature of Things: Man and Dog: An Evolving Partnership on hulu. And a search showed that it's also on SnagFilms. Those Wonderful Dogs is also on snagfilms.
[6/21/14] NatGeoWild has started showing The Wonder of Dogs which was a 2013 3-part series on BBC. I don't see the episode titles, but NatGeoWild has named them All Shapes and Sizes (youtube), A Dog for Every Job (youtube), A Dog's Best Friend (youtube)
Here's another one on youtube: Dogs: Their Secret Lives (not to be confused with the Secret Life of the Dog above)
