holding the collar

I heard a jogger er jogging, so I went outside to keep Kimo from barking.

He was lying down and I knelt down and grabbed him by the collar. I held him and after a while he started growling. I didn't let go and he became more and more intense and nipped me in the arm (though he didn't completely lose it, it was bad enough). I knelt by him to let him smell him and eventually got him to lie dow.

I think he didn't care for how my arm was positioned when I was holding him as it was sort of in front of his face. I should be more careful and approach him more from the side or back and not in front of his eyes where it's more confrontational.
